Lecturer Holly Gallagher teaches courses in science and health writing, including Scientific Research Writing and Science and Health Writing. Her teaching interests include questions of ethics in contemporary scientific research and communication between scientists and the general public. She has also taught writing courses on Biomedical Ethics and Global Health Issues, which addressed matters such as science advocacy and policy. Gallagher’s research interests span both science and the humanities. Her doctoral work specialized in nineteenth-century British literature and the visual arts, and her dissertation examines Victorian perceptions of art and the shared emotions that occur in art spaces.
