Parking

The closest visitor pay lot is at the Tate Center. The Tate Center parking deck accepts cash and cards as forms of payment.
For more information about lots, fees and hours, visit parking.uga.edu. You can also visit transit.uga.edu to learn about bus schedules and accomodations if you have a disability. There is no public parking directly in front of nor behind the Biosciences Building, and vehicles not authorized to park will be towed by UGA Parking Services.

Walking

If you are parking at Tate, walk up to Sanford Drive. You'll have a nice view of the stadium. From there you can take a right and either follow Sanford Drive until you get to the light at Cedar Street and take a left, or you can take a shortcut using Field Street, which is a one-way access road behind Sanford Stadium.

Building hours

Game days

The building is closed to the public on Game Days.

Lost and Found

Visit the Biosciences Learning Center, or BLC, in room 400 to inquire about lost items. You may also email helpdesk@franklin.uga.edu. You can also visit the UGA Lost and Found page on Facebook.

Where are the Departments within the Division located?

In addition to Biology labs and lecture halls, the Biosciences Building includes several (but not all) of the departments within our Divison. In this building you can find Entomology (4th floor: main level), Microbiology (5th floor), Cellular Biology (7th Floor), and more.

Support our Department

Your contributions keep us going! There are numerous ways to give. You can donate or attend our events.

Every dollar given has a direct impact upon our students and faculty.

Undergraduate Research in Biology

Undergraduates majoring in biology have the opportunity to enhance their learning through direct participation in research and scholarship. At UGA, these opportunities enable undergraduates to participate in ground-breaking research, often as part of a team of graduate students and faculty. In fact, many students can earn academic credit while working under an experienced faculty mentor by taking BIOL 4960R or working directly with the Center for Undergraduate Research Opportunities (CURO). The Biological Sciences Undergraduate Research Fellowship (BSURF) has been established to support undergraduate research opportunities in the Division of Biological Sciences within the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences. The Fellowship provides financial assistance to a student who has not had an opportunity to participate in a mentored research experience (paid, volunteer, or for credit) since matriculating to The University of Georgia.
